We’ve decided that we are soooo over this whole “winter” thing. Our hands are chapped, our jeans are fiercely salt-stained, and we have a serious case of the much dreaded but basically unavoidable hat-head. We’ll be honest … we’ve seen better days! Thankfully spring is just around the corner, beckoning us with its warm weather promises of sandals, sundresses, and cocktailing-it on the patio of our fave bar. So do as we do, and shake off those winter blahs with a little pre-spring prep work. Hit the gym, schedule a pedi, and prepare to bust out the warm-weather gear! | 1 | (Sub)Urban Style We love road trips. Cool stores in the middle of nowhere? Awesome! Bizarre roadside attractions? Rad! So when we heard tales of a fabulous boutique in suburban Woodbury, we declared a “mini” road trip (hey, it’s a whole 10 miles away). We hit up a gas station, grabbed a stash of junk food, and sang like sugar-up divas all the way to Elodie. And it was sooo worth the (very short) trip! | 2 | Robots Are Our Future Back when we worked in cubicle-land, we had a coworker who always showcased the coolest toys and doo-dads on his desk, like Murakami figurines (pre-Louis Vuitton), Kinder Egg toys, and miniature versions of stuffed animals we grew up with. Needless to say, his desk was the focal point of the office, and a source of joy, fascination and—yes—jealousy. Years later, we discovered Robot Love, and found that we too can have the coolest desk around (even if we do work from home). This small store packs in some of the most unique toys, gadgets and, for lack of a better word, stuff, in the Twin Cities.
